Les détenus forcent le prélat à regarder une pièce de théâtre illustrant ce qui est arrivé en 1912. On le rencontre comme un jeune homme, guindé, l'intention de convaincre Simon (maintenant le condamné) à se joindre au séminaire avec lui.
