Tianyu Ma is born and raised in Beijing, China. Mostly working as a screenwriter and director, she mainly focuses on topics related to cross-culture youth with their exploration of *** and gender. As her thesis film at Emerson College, "200 Cigarettes From Now" intends to present an authentic and vivid portrayal of Asian girls from her generation.
